Job Description
Great Basin College (GBC) seeks a part-time Administrative Assistant for the GBC-NORCAT Mine Skills Training program who will work as a member of the GBC-NORCAT Mine Skills Training team to support the program across Nevada. The administrative assistant will be responsible for day-to-day tasks, managing budgets, invoicing, and communicating with internal team members and external partners. This is a 12-month, part-time position (<20 hours per week) located in Elko, Nevada on our main GBC campus and reports to the Director of GBC-NORCAT Mine Skills Training. This position will be required to work on some weekends, and at times have flexible hours.
Qualifications:
- High school graduate or equivalent
- Ability and willingness to organize and implement multiple projects at once
- Ability to communicate effectively in writing and orally
- Comfortable with basic computer operations and other technologies
- Must be self-motivated
- Demonstrate a positive, encouraging approach to dealing with coworkers and external partners
- Demonstrate collegiality and flexibility in working as a team
Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain knowledge and professional understanding of all GBC-NORCAT Mine Skills Training programs
- Monitor and track course registrations, payments, completions, and earned certificates of GBC-NORCAT Mine Skills Training program participants
- Monitor and track all expenditures for the program, create spend authorizations and expense reports, order supplies and equipment, assist with budget and fiscal needs
- Perform receptionist duties such as answer phones, monitoring calendars and emails, and maintaining records
- Participate in, as needed, and promote the GBC-NORCAT Mine Skills Training programs
- Maintain accurate documentation, budgets, invoices, payments, and records related to GBC-NORCAT Mine Skills Training programs
- Other duties as assigned.
Salary:
$35,000 annually
Position is part-time, limited to 79.5 hours per month
